The Jackson Morgan Horsae Ranch has been raising registered Morgan Horses for over 80 years.
The ranch is situated in a high mountain valley of southwestern Montana near Harrison and in the Tobacco Root Range of the Rocky Mountains.
Joel C. Jackson purchased his first registered Morgan stallion in 1920, Hal Mercury Jr. 6819, a horse strong in trotting blood. Our breeding since has been predominantly Government with a few lines to Brunk.
Our aim is to produce using type Morgans that are raised in open pastures and hills which develop good feet and legs and enhance their natural athletic ability.
Mortana is our registered prefix name. We use our Morgans here on our cattle ranch and have never seen a need to introduce another breed to our saddle work.
Visitors are always welcome.
Jackson Lane is on the east side of the 287 at the 359 junction, just north of Harrison.
